Our autumn gathering brings us together at a new venue, Warehouse 49, with distorted guitars, hypnotic synths and relentless electronic pulses – a night of dark psychedelia, post-punk, dark-wave, EBM and synth-punk, charged with enough electricity to stir the living and raise the dead.

SARKA (CY)

SARKA is a hybrid ritual, or a party for loss, desire, the desire for loss and the loss of desire. Synths and bass lines form a shimmering swamp where sound meets flesh and bodies come together. A sonic experiment emerges from this encounter like an ancient glitch rising from a lake of congealed sounds and shattered syllables.

Psychedelic Trips To Death (GR)

Formed in Thessaloniki in 2010, Psychedelic Trips To Death combine noise rock, psychedelia and electronic experimentation. With Konstantinos Iosifidis and Panos Anastasiadis at their core, they blend the rawness of rock’n’roll with the steady pulse of machines. Distorted guitars, bass, drum machines, synths and live electronics shape a sound built on intensity, repetition and a gradual build-up of pressure.

From their independently released debut Malibu in 2012 to the GOLD EP in 2023, their discography includes releases on British labels Fuzz Club and Dirty Filthy Records, as well as Greece’s Dinara Records. They have performed across Greece and the rest of Europe, sharing stages with The Black Angels, iLiKETRAiNS, The Underground Youth, Vox Low, Singapore Sling and DITZ.

Live, their songs move beyond their recorded versions, shifting in structure, length and texture as guitars dissolve into distortion and feedback. Behind the mixing desk is Titos Kargiotakis, a sound engineer and respected figure in Greek rock who helped shape the sound of Trypes. He now works with the duo at their live shows, acting as an unofficial third member. Between the two musicians and the mixing desk, the songs are rebuilt on stage, until the next eruption sweeps away everything that seemed solid.

Badtime (BE)

Βadtime was formed in Antwerp in 2020 by Kevin Schuit, originally from the Caribbean island of Aruba, and Ioana Ciora from Romania. Combining music and visual art, the duo has developed badtime into a multimedia project with a dark aesthetic and a DIY ethos.

Their sound moves between dark-wave, EBM and synth-punk, blending them into what they call body-punk. You could also describe it as a euphoric strain of psychobilly, capable of whipping you into a dance-floor frenzy that builds towards catharsis. Jagged guitars, pulsating bass lines and hypnotic synths create a ritualistic atmosphere. Rawness remains integral to their music, which retains its rough edges and imperfections.

Live, sound, image and movement come together, drawing the audience into badtime’s world. Their music confronts the gloom and monotony of contemporary life, giving that sense of release a clear political dimension. For the duo, the live experience becomes a form of anti-capitalist catharsis, allowing discontent to find physical expression.
